The Nigerian ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki has died at the age of 63.
Fidel Info reports that the news of his death was made public in a statement signed by his children, the former minister was said to have passed away on Thursday, December.
“It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend,” the statement reads.
“He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Madrid, Spain.”
Born on November 30, 1959, he was a politician, teacher, businessman, and public administrator. He served until his death as the Nigerian ambassador to Spain, a position he assumed in January 2021, with concurrent accreditation as a permanent representative of Nigeria to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation. He previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence.
Yebumot Al-Hikmah Road Temporarily Shut As Construction Begins
Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport will temporarily closed the Yebumot Al-Hikmah Road from today, Wednesday 11th January, 2023.
Fidel Info reports that the closure is effective from 11:00am to allow for the commencement of the asphalt laying of the road.
The Ministry urges road users to make use of other routes for their journeys pending the completion of the asphalt laying.
The Ministry sincerely regrets the inconveniences this may bring to the residents and users of the road.

Yoruba Nation Rally: Normalcy Restored At Ojota After Unrest
Following reported unrest Monday morning involving alleged Yoruba Nation agitators, normalcy has apparently been restored in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ojota.
Fidel Info reports that Videos that have been making the rounds on social media purport to show that a person who cannot be named died amid the unrest when protesters and police allegedly battled where the protesters gathered for a large gathering.
The scene of the unrest is now reported to be calm and serene, due to the intervention of security operatives.
Additionally, armed police officers and cars were seen near the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota.
Jubril Gawat, a staff member for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, posted a status update on the incident, saying that things were back to normal at Ojota.
He wrote, “UPDATE: Ojota is calm. OP-MESA and other Police Divisions are fully on ground. People are going about their normal duties, all clear.”
Lagosians Decry Hectic Collection Of PVCs
Some Lagosians have lamented the stress that they had to go through to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards.
Fidel Info reports that Residents at the Rauf Aregbesola primary school, Shasha road in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos on Saturday, where the Independent National Electoral Commission had set up shop to bring the PVCs closer to Nigerians, spoke about the mammoth crowd at the center and the snail-like movement of the workers.
Citizens have taken to their social media account to lament the stressful collection of the PVC.
INEC was earlier reported to have said thousands of PVCs still remain uncollected.
