Ticket Prices Announced For Kwara United vs AS Douanes Confederation Cup Tie

The TotalEnergies Confederation Cup match between Kwara United Football Club and AS Douanes of the Niger Republic is set to take place on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

The club has set ticket prices for three different ticket levels: VVIP, VIP, and Popular side.

The cost of a ticket is N3000 (three thousand naira alone), N1000 (one thousand naira only) for a VIP seat, and N500 (fifty naira only) for a seat on the popular side (five hundred naira only).

AS Douanes, a Niger Republic club based in Niamey arrived Lagos, Nigeria yesternight, ahead of the first leg, First Round encounter, which is expected to kick-off by 3.00pm on Sunday.

The General Manager of the Club, Bashir Badawiy said that every arrangement is being made to ensure a hitch-free game, even as he added that Kwara United FC players are in high spirit ahead of the crucial challenge.

The return leg match will hold at the Général Seyni Kountché Stadion or Stade Municipal de Niamey, Niamey, Niger, the home grounds of the team on September 18th, 2022.

The winner, over the two legs will play Moroccan side, Berkane, who are the current holders of the Confederation Cup title.

This is Kwara United FC’s third appearance in CAF competitions, having played in CAF Cup in 1999/2000 and in 2016/2017 seasons.

Kwara United FC finished fourth in the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, and tipped alongside Remo Stars, to represent the country in the Confederation Cup.

Done deal! Mauricio Pochettino signs Chelsea contract to succeed Frank Lampard as Blues boss

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly signed the contract that will see him become Chelsea’s new manager in the 2023-24 campaign.

The Blues have worked their way through three managers this season, with Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel relieved of his duties in September 2022. Graham Potter then lasted just 31 games at the helm, with Frank Lampard returning to Stamford Bridge as interim boss.

Several candidates have been linked with the most prominent of Premier League posts since then, but The Telegraph reports that Pochettino has agreed to take the reins.

The former Southampton and Tottenham head coach has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Pochettino boasts plenty of experience when it comes to the English top-flight, while he also guided Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019, but he will be inheriting a Chelsea squad that has underperformed badly this term. They are destined to finish in the bottom-half of the table despite investing around £600 million ($741m) across the last two transfer window

Lampard’s final game in charge of Chelsea will be against Newcastle on Sunday, with Argentine tactician Pochettino then set to pick up the managerial baton heading towards the summer transfer window and another rebuilding project.
