Governor Abdulrahman’s Uncommon Compassion For Civil Servants

Published

on

The Kwara State Governor at the weekend no doubt, overwhelmed many Civil Servants in the State by the magnificent role he played towards effort at savouring the llfe of the late Permanent Secretary, Hajia Bola Alaya.

The Governor on receiving the information on the urgent need to fly the permanent Secretary to Abuja for better medical attention, immediately secured the service of an airbus for this purpose without much- a-do including bearing the medical expenses.

Although she unfortunately gave up the ghost, this act of Abdulrahman further attest to his unflinching passion and commitment to the welfare of the State Civil Servants and to re assure the workers that they have in the Governor, somebody they can always rely on at the time of need.

The implication of this, perhaps is that it will further boost the morale of the civil servants to put in their best at ensuring proficient service delivery.

Aside the humanitarian assistance, the Governor has taken significant steps to ease the burden of rendering efficient service by the workers.

Computers sets and its accessories have been purchased and distributed to the various ministries, Departments and Agencies for administrative usage. Thus, putting an end to the odd practice of civil servants having to visit private business centres to type official documents.

Hitherto, it has been an Herculean task for government workers to source transportation for official trip due to non availability of official vehicles. This has now been taken care of with the purchase of brand new fleet of vehicles by the Abdulrahman administration to serve this purpose.

In addition and most importantly, the Governor has not only ensured the regular payment of workers monthly salaries as and when due, he has equally commensed the payment of new minimum wage and the consequential adjustment across board.

All these, with many others are indicators that the Governor treat the welfare of the State workers with high esteem.

It is said that to whom much is given, much is expected. It therefore behove the State Civil Servants to reciprocate the gesture by putting more efforts in the performance of their respective duties to appreciate the Governor and also encourage him to do more for the service.

IEPY Slams Saraki Over Unguarded Statements Against Emir

Published

on

A sociocultural group, Ilorin Emirate Progressive Youths (IEPY) has carpeted former senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, over his unguarded utterances against the Ilorin Emirate.

Fidel Info reports that IEPY in a statement on Monday signed by its Chairman, Engr. Bolaji Sadiq, expressed surprise that despite being a ranking traditional title holder of the Emirate (Waziri), Saraki could still be going about spiting the Emir and the Emirate.

The former senate president in reports of news mediums pledged to tear the Emirate structure apart by removing Moro out of it. Moro has always been a part of the Ilorin Emirate.

We understand that this pledge was dictated by his desperate need for sympathy votes to awaken his dead party. That was why he tried to wooed the Moro people with this sentiment during his tour to the community. However, our Emirate is not what politicians should use to play politics.

We are displeased that Dr. Saraki has not been portraying the Emirate in good light in recent times. We saw videos of how he came home some months back and on his way to the Ilorin Central Mosque was throwing wads of naira into the air for our people to hustle over, which might lead to stampede or even violence. This is apart from the dehumanising picture that such act paints to our people.

We recall that it was that same day he was dragging seat at the central mosque with the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari. Apart from his position as chief of staff to the number one citizen, Prof. Gambari is also a prince of Ilorin Emirate. We hope Saraki is not waging war against the Ilorin Emirate because he can never succeed in such. Promising traditional rulers in some parts of the state that his PDP government if supported will rotate the chairmanship position of the Kwara State Traditional Council is targeted at our revered Emir who has always been the Chairman of the Council.

We therefore use this platform to caution Dr. Bukola Saraki to guard his utterances and stop fueling discord because of politics. Politics would soon go but what he has said would remain.
