Hon Shina Peller Reveals Decision On Dumping APC For Others

Published

on

Hon. Shina Peller, a member of the House of Representatives representing Oyo State’s Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, has stated that he has no plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Peller, an indigene of Iseyin in the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone, revealed this on Sunday

Peller was elected to represent the constituency in 2019 on the APC’s platform.

The FidelinfoNews recalls that the lawmaker was one of the aspirants who declared their intentions to represent Oyo North Senatorial District on the APC platform

According to reports, some people assumed the lawmaker had left the APC after failing to secure an APC ticket for the senatorial district.

The lawmaker, however, in his reaction said that he had no plan to dump APC.

Peller, in a statement signed by Kola Popoola, his Press Secretary, explained that the rumour of his defection from APC to another political party is still a speculation.

The lawmaker said that he was aware that some people had concluded that he had joined the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) while some said that he had joined Peoples Democratic Party.

He added that some people has said that he had joined Accord Party.

Peller insisted that such rumours are still speculations.

He spoke further by saying the fact that he honoured one of the politicians in Ibadan does not mean that he had joined NNPP.

Peller said, “My attention has been drawn to an unfounded report going viral that I have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

“Also, while some speculate that I am now a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, some conclude I am now in Accord Party. This is nothing but a rumour, and should be regarded as one by all as I still remain a member of the APC until I announce otherwise via my verified social media handles.

That I honoured Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan’s invitation to his house doesn’t mean I have defected to NNPP. Alhaji Olopoeyan is a family friend, and the fact that we belong to different political parties doesn’t mean I should start playing politics of bitterness with him. I am not that kind of a person and won’t turn to one for political reason.

“That I commended Governor Makinde on a project that is beneficial to my constituents shouldn’t make one conclude that I am a now a PDP member. Also, Engr. Seyi Makinde is not a governor to PDP members only, but a governor to everyone in Oyo State including myself. I haven’t defected from APC to any political party, and even if I am going to do so, that would be for the people of Oke Ogun in Oyo State to decide.”

Falsehood, Disinformation Won’t Win Elections, Tinubu Tells Obi

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party, to warn his supporters against spreading false information.

Speaking on behalf of Asiwaju, Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Communications for the Tinubu Campaign Organization (TCO), claimed that Obi’s supporters have been spreading false information to the public in an effort to harm the APC candidate.

Recall that a report emerged online a few days ago, that the Ghanian President, Nana Akufo-Addo wrote a letter to Asiwaju, asking him to step down and support Peter Obi and take care of his health.

The President had via his official Twitter handle, debunked the report, calling it fake news, stating that it is a product of deliberate mischief with the intent to deceive the public.

Reacting, the TCO media Director asked Obi to disavow his supporters who are employing fake news against the former Lagos State Governor.

“We have come to a point where it becomes imperative to tell Obi to show leadership and disavow his supporters who are employing fake news and disinformation as deliberate tools to deceive and poison the minds of unsuspecting Nigerians,” Onanuga stated.
