Man Arrested In Kwara For Possession Of Fresh Human Head, Hands

Operatives of Operation Harmony in Kwara State, on Monday, arrested a man in possession of a fresh severed human head and hands along Ajasse-Ipo/Ilorin highway.

Spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Monday.

“Today, 3rd May, 2021, at about 06.30 a.m along Ajasse-Ipo/Ilorin road,a team of Operation Harmony on a stop and search duty, stopped one suspected commercial bus and in the process of searching a bag, one boy took to his heels while his partner was held.

“The bag searched and a freshly severed human head and hands of a boy was discovered,” the statement stated.

It explained further that in the course of interrogation, “The suspect confessed to have killed the victim, named Mohammed in Ajasse-Ipo with his fleeing partner for ritual purposes.

“The suspect took a team of investigators to where the body was dumped for purposes of recovery and subsequent transfer to the hospital for autopsy,” the statement added.

The statement said on the strength of the discovery, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Mohammed Lawal Bagega, directed the homicide section of the state SCID, to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest anybody connected to the heinous crime.

The CP again advised criminals to vacate Kwara State as the command possesses the capacity to deploy all legal means to deal with criminals to ensure the good people of the state live in peace at all times.

Investigation into the case is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court as soon as it is concluded.

Policeman, Others Shot Dead In Osun Land Dispute

A policeman, Akinsanya Akingbade, was killed on Friday during a clash between Ileogbo and Iwo communities in Osun State over a parcel of land.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that three other people were also killed while many were seriously injured.

The disputed land is at Asalu at Oke Saji which is the boundary between Ileogbo and Iwo.

As a result of the incident, the Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, has summoned the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the traditional ruler of Ileogbo, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, to a security meeting in Osogbo with the Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Olokode.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, while confirming the incident, said one Waheed Adeleye was arrested for the murder of the policeman.

The PPRO said the suspect shot the policeman on his chest with a gun.

Opalola said the deceased was attached to the Ile-Igbo monarch.

The police spokesperson said the remains of the policeman had been deposited at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.

She said that adequate policemen have been deployed to the communities to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Kwara Fire Fighters Rescue 40 Year Old Trapped In Flood

A 40 years old man was on Thursday rescued from rising floodwaters in Kwara State by men of the State Fire Service.

“About 18:10hrs of yesterday evening, 6th May, 2021 during the heavy downpour, the Brigade was summoned to a rescue operation around Royal Sekina Hotel, along Ajase-Ipo Road in Ilorin Kwara State,” a statement by the spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, reads.

“On getting to the incident, a man of about 40-year-old had been trapped inside the flood. Most importantly, the victim man called Abdulwahab Olarewaju was able to recover well alive by our firemen from this turbulent flood.”

He quoted the fire service boss, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa (CFO), as urging resident “to always be safety cautious especially during the rainfall”.

Aisha Alhassan, former Nigerian Minister for Women Affairs is dead.

Alhassan, known widely as Mama Taraba, was appointed as Minister in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that She died at 61 in Cairo, Egypt.

Officials of the Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba State also confirmed her death to one of our correspondents.

AlHassan is a former Minister of Women Affairs and former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from Taraba North Senatorial District.

She contested for the same seat on the platform of the UDP in the 2019 general elections after resigning as a minister in the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on July 27, 2018.

The former senator was born on the 16th of September, 1959 in Jalingo, Taraba State, to Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, Sarkin Ayukan Muri.
