Police Arrests Kidnappers Who Beheaded Victim For Money Ritual

The Kwara State Police Command has announced that it has arrested Kazeem Muhammed, the leader of the Kidnap gang who allegedly collected the sum of N160,000 from a man identified as Olokose Oluwasola Ojo.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that the suspect collected the money from Olokose, now deceased on the guise of helping to buy a cow to be used for the deceased wedding, scheduled to hold between march 12 and 13 2021.

The victim could not be reached since leaving Ilorin on march 3, until a call was received by his fiancé, with demands for N12 million made by the culprits.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of Kwara State Command, Sp. Okesanmi Ajayi disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Lawal Bagega immediately ordered an investigation and arrest of the kidnappers at all cost.

“Investigation however led to the arrest of the leader of the gang by name, Mohammed Kazeem Beiwa in Patigi via the use of hi-tec intelligence. Investigation further led to the arrest of three other members of the syndicate, Mohammed Chatta, Jimoh Abdulateef and Madi Jeremiah, they confessed to the crime, confirming the killing of the victim and burying him in a shallow grave inside the bush, they took policemen to the scene of the killing where the head of the victim and arm was severed and used for money ritual by Mohammed Kazeem, the leader of the gang.” The statement read.

It further added “The suspects stated in their confessional statement that the victim was lured into the remote part of Patigi where he was told the cow he paid for was tied, on getting to the spot, he was shot and killed.
The body of the victim was exummed by the police and taken to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy”.

Policeman, Others Shot Dead In Osun Land Dispute

A policeman, Akinsanya Akingbade, was killed on Friday during a clash between Ileogbo and Iwo communities in Osun State over a parcel of land.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that three other people were also killed while many were seriously injured.

The disputed land is at Asalu at Oke Saji which is the boundary between Ileogbo and Iwo.

As a result of the incident, the Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, has summoned the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the traditional ruler of Ileogbo, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, to a security meeting in Osogbo with the Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Olokode.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, while confirming the incident, said one Waheed Adeleye was arrested for the murder of the policeman.

The PPRO said the suspect shot the policeman on his chest with a gun.

Opalola said the deceased was attached to the Ile-Igbo monarch.

The police spokesperson said the remains of the policeman had been deposited at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.

She said that adequate policemen have been deployed to the communities to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Kwara Fire Fighters Rescue 40 Year Old Trapped In Flood

A 40 years old man was on Thursday rescued from rising floodwaters in Kwara State by men of the State Fire Service.

“About 18:10hrs of yesterday evening, 6th May, 2021 during the heavy downpour, the Brigade was summoned to a rescue operation around Royal Sekina Hotel, along Ajase-Ipo Road in Ilorin Kwara State,” a statement by the spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, reads.

“On getting to the incident, a man of about 40-year-old had been trapped inside the flood. Most importantly, the victim man called Abdulwahab Olarewaju was able to recover well alive by our firemen from this turbulent flood.”

He quoted the fire service boss, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa (CFO), as urging resident “to always be safety cautious especially during the rainfall”.

Aisha Alhassan, former Nigerian Minister for Women Affairs is dead.

Alhassan, known widely as Mama Taraba, was appointed as Minister in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that She died at 61 in Cairo, Egypt.

Officials of the Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba State also confirmed her death to one of our correspondents.

AlHassan is a former Minister of Women Affairs and former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from Taraba North Senatorial District.

She contested for the same seat on the platform of the UDP in the 2019 general elections after resigning as a minister in the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on July 27, 2018.

The former senator was born on the 16th of September, 1959 in Jalingo, Taraba State, to Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, Sarkin Ayukan Muri.
