Osun United Suspends Head Coach, 2 Others

The management of Osun United Football Club, Osogbo has suspended the teams Head coach, Bright Omokaro and two of his assistants, Bayo Adesina and Wole Animasahun.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that the suspension was as a result of the teams poor performance in the Nigerian National League (NNL) recently.

The decision to suspend the coaching team was taken at an emergency management meeting following the poor run of results in 4 games.

A statement by the team’s Media Officer indicated that the team’s media Officer, Tajudeen Ahmad indicated that Assistant Coach, Waheed Olapade and Goalkeeper’s Trainer, Moruf Olasupo are to lead the team in the interim capacity with immediate effect.

BREAKING: Saraki Committee Fails, As Violence Mars PDP Northwest Congress

The Ongoing Northwest Zonal Congress of the People’s Democratic Party has suffered a setback as violence erupted at venue of the Congress holding in Kaduna.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that the cause of the latest round of violence has not been determined as at the time of filing this report.

It will be recalled that the Bukola Saraki led reconciliation committee had given the greenlight for the Northwest and Southwest Congress to hold, as it claimed efforts to reconcile factions had been successful.

In the same vein Saraki Committee recently suffered another failure when the late Buruji Kashamu faction of the PDP in Ogun state defected to the ruling APC despite the committee declaring end to years of feud in the state’s chapter.

Bauchi Jailbreak Attempt Caused By Mobile Phone – NCS

The Nigeria Correctional Service has disclosed that the attempted jail break at the Bauchi Correctional centre was as a result of an attempt to smuggle a mobile phone into the centre.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that an officer tried to smuggle in a mobile phone for inmates, which is clearly illegal and against the rules.

Reports indicates that a scuffle ensued when inmates who wanted to benefit from the deal had a face off with other officers who busted the plan and enforced the rules.

The commission also affirmed that 2 officers and 5 inmates sustained injuries in the disturbance, and have been treated and discharged.

The restive inmates have also been put under control while the staff involved is undergoing interrogation, as ordered by the State Controller. This regrettable development is being investigated.

Wike Bans Igbo Group’s Meeting Over Security Concerns

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has issued an ban on a meeting proposed to be held by United Igbo Community, an Igbo group in Oyigbo Local Government of the state.

The FidelinfoNews reports that the state government cited security concerns, as the meeting could spark another round of unrest in the area.

The Rivers state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim noted that Wike directed security agencies to ensure that the planned meeting does not hold in a bid to prevent a breakdown of law and order in the area.

The governor had in October, 2020, declared a 24-hour curfew in Oyigbo after a police station was attacked by hoodlums.

The governor, who said Rivers won’t allow troublemakers to take the law into their own hands also declared a N50 million bounty on a leader of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra, in the state, one Stanley Mgbere.
