Ilorin Innovation Hub Joins Afrilabs, Set To Encourage Tech. Startups

The Ilorin Innovation Hub has joined Afrilab Networks, the largest network of innovation hubs in Africa.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that the Ilorin Innovation Hub, which is the first ICT and Technology center established by the Kwara State Government Under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to transform Kwara state into an economically viable and self sustaining state through digital literacy, youth empowerment, innovation and technology, plays the function building technology skills among young Kwarans and incubating local tech. start ups.

According a statement by the Managing Director of the Hub, Temi Kolawole, the partnership “will bring in more attention and opportunities to the Kwara State Government innovation, which will also create a network for collaboration via which our youth can grow and succeed in the technology space”.

He also said “Kwara youths will have access to to broader sources of funding, remote work and jobs across the Afrilab network, we are also sure that the Ilorin Innovation hub will be home to many events and programs within the Afrilabs Network by the time the construction of its modern permanent location is completed later this year”.

Some other Innovation hubs that are members of the Afrilabs Network are Impact Hub, Ventures Platform, Passion Incubator, iHub in Kenya an Mlab in South Africa.

BREAKING: Saraki Committee Fails, As Violence Mars PDP Northwest Congress

The Ongoing Northwest Zonal Congress of the People’s Democratic Party has suffered a setback as violence erupted at venue of the Congress holding in Kaduna.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that the cause of the latest round of violence has not been determined as at the time of filing this report.

It will be recalled that the Bukola Saraki led reconciliation committee had given the greenlight for the Northwest and Southwest Congress to hold, as it claimed efforts to reconcile factions had been successful.

In the same vein Saraki Committee recently suffered another failure when the late Buruji Kashamu faction of the PDP in Ogun state defected to the ruling APC despite the committee declaring end to years of feud in the state’s chapter.

Bauchi Jailbreak Attempt Caused By Mobile Phone – NCS

The Nigeria Correctional Service has disclosed that the attempted jail break at the Bauchi Correctional centre was as a result of an attempt to smuggle a mobile phone into the centre.

The FidelinfoNews gathered that an officer tried to smuggle in a mobile phone for inmates, which is clearly illegal and against the rules.

Reports indicates that a scuffle ensued when inmates who wanted to benefit from the deal had a face off with other officers who busted the plan and enforced the rules.

The commission also affirmed that 2 officers and 5 inmates sustained injuries in the disturbance, and have been treated and discharged.

The restive inmates have also been put under control while the staff involved is undergoing interrogation, as ordered by the State Controller. This regrettable development is being investigated.
